Pocket Edition is a Boys' Barbershop Chorus from Macleans College in Auckland, New Zealand and they are singers of four part close barbershop harmony. Mr Fran Silke is the director of the chorus. The chorus has around 30 members.
The Chorus has been highly successful. The Chorus is the current holder of the Auckland and New Zealand Barbershop Chorus titles that have been retained for a few years in succession. The Chorus has also undertaken a number of sing-outs and tours.
The Chorus sings unaccompanied, only using a pitch pipe to pitch the tonic key before singing a song. The four voice parts are the lead singers accompanied by the basses, baritones and tenors. The tenors sing above the melody line, the basses sing the low notes and the baritones fit in between to complete the chord.
